Who Is The Most Important Person In Your Life?

(btw, I bet you get that wrong)

I had a great conversation with a client the other day who had put a lot of things on hold in her life when she became a mum so that she could concentrate on raising her two daughters.

Now that her girls had grown up she found it hard to put herself first for a change.

This is totally understandable as you kind of get out of the habit of doing things “just for you” or you feel guilty when you do.

Thing is, and I say this to my clients a lot.

You are the most important person in your life.

Not your kids.

Not your partner

And not your pets

READ THAT AGAIN

As a father my kids mean everything to me BUT if I don’t look after my health, keep my “head right” with breaks from work and give myself some “space” then I will burn out and I won’t be able to be the best father I could possibly be.

I can’t be a good father if I’m constantly tired, groggy or stressed from work.

I can’t be a good father if I’m ill.

Does that all make sense?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Granted, I’m separated from my children’s mum so some people might jump down my throat and say I’m a “part time dad” but I call BS on that.

My children are never out of my thoughts and I always want to see them more and when I’m not with my kids I’m working my ass off so I can afford to give them a great life and take them on adventures.

And when I’m with my kids it’s 100% me. I don’t have anyone helping me out. So if I’m ill I’m not going to do a great job of looking after my little ones.

Anyway, I digress.

So what does this have to do with you? Or fitness and fat loss for that matter?

Everything.

If you don’t look after yourself then you’ll not be able to look after your children. You’ll not be able to perform your best at work and you’ll be a grumpy wife/husband.

This means eating healthy, exercising and taking some time out.

Even if that’s only a massage or a half day in the spa.

I’ll be back in a couple of days with some simple tips on how you can get started on a fitness programme, even if you’re a busy parent like me

Have an awesome day,
