Time Crunched Workout

barnstaple personal trainerAs a busy dad running two businesses, whilst building a third business, studying Naturopathy and trying to spend as much time as possible with my two kids I often find that I don’t have much “spare” time to factor in a workout.

As you can imagine, being a health coach, exercise is extremely important to me for several reasons.

  • I like been fit and healthy. I just feel better for exercising and EATing Smart.
  • I have two young kids and I want to be running around with them, especially as they get older and get into sports. I want to be a dad that they can be proud of, not a dad who is huffing and puffing after 5 minutes of kicking a football or throwing a frisbee on the beach.
  • I love food. I enjoy the fact that by EATing Smart and exercising on a regular basis I can “get away” with eating bigger portions and having the occasional treat and not put any weight on.
  • I’m a health coach, I need to practice what I preach. I need to show my clients and potential clients that what I “teach” actually works. In effect I’m a walking, talking advertisement for the EAT Smart Lifestyle. So yeah I need to be in shape. After all you wouldn’t pay attention to or respect a fat personal trainer 😉

Anyway, like I said I’m time crunched so don’t spend hours working out. In fact I vary rarely spend more 20-30 minutes doing my workouts. But in some cases I only manage to squeeze in a 10 minute workout, like the one below.
I’ve used these exercise combinations and similar at my Fitness Academy and in the Six Week Body Transformation Programme and they leave you in know doubt that you have to spend hours working out to get awesome results.
All you need to do this workout is an interval timer, some space to do the workout and a big box of can do attitude 😉
Here’s the workout. Give it a go and let me know how you get on:

  • Reverse Lunges
  • Press Ups
  • Burpees
  • Mountain Climbers

Simply set a timer for 20 seconds work, with a 10 second rest between the exercises. Do the exercises in the order shown as a circuit and do 5 rounds of the circuit for an intense fat blasting 10 minute workout.
