We also feel strongly that our coaches should be paid well for the professionalism, skill and dedication that is expected of them.

Our coaches represent the Roll-Royce of personal training in the Barnstaple area and you don’t get Roll-Royce quality at Reliant Robin prices and so wont apologise if our training fees are higher than some of the other Barnstaple personal trainers.

Just as we all have a specific goal and a specific body we are all starting from a different level of fitness. Simply put, if you’re trainer is not assessing he’s guessing. It would be like going on a journey in your car, if you don’t know where you are starting from you cannot plot your journey to your final destination.

And at Marc Kent Health & Fitness we use the most advanced assessment protocol in the country and in fact Marc Kent is the only trainer in Devon who has undergone this qualification.

“Initial Health, Nutrition & Goal Setting Consultation”

The first step on the road to a fitter healthier you is the initial health and fitness consultation. During this time we will go through your current medical health as well as talk about the benefits of optimum nutrition.

It’s also during this time that we will go through the EAT Smart Diet Solution protocols that you will be expected to follow during your first 30 days with us.

Marc’s EAT Smart Diet solution has been used around the world to  get amazing results in terms of not only weight and fat loss but pain reduction, strength improvement and even management of medical conditions such as hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and even diabetes.

The program asks for a STRICT 30 days of adherence when you first join but the results will be well worth it as you’ll see results in the first few days alone. And don’t worry, there’s no weighing foods, calorie counting or any of that other nonsense you hear about so often. It’s just good nutrition.

But here’s the thing, without meaning to sound bossy, this is not open for negotiation. All of our clients, regardless of their goals must go through the EAT Smart Diet Solution program. This is because, quite simply, it’s the most powerful aspect of the program and the part that guarantees your results will come to you quickly. Without your full participation, we’ll be working with our hands tied behind our backs and will not be able to guarantee your results. Anyway, 30 days is nothing…  …and you’ll LOVE the results!

After that we will then discuss your personal goals and get to the why beneath the why of you wanting to start on this journey to a new you. Once we know where you are in relation to where you want to be we can devise the road map to take you there.

This consultation is £40 and is to be paid for in advance of your appointment via paypal. Once you have paid Marc will be in touch to set the appointment.

“Kinetic Chain Assessment”

After your initial health, nutrition & goal setting consultation, your first session as a personal training client at Marc Kent Health & Fitness will be the advanced Kinetic Chain Assessment. It’s at this point that most Barnstaple Personal Trainers get you on the gym floor for an exercise session, but if you haven’t been through a thorough postural assessment how can they design you a personal training program?

Simply put, they can’t!

And if your Barnstaple Personal trainer is not assessing they’re guessing and they’re not writing you a bespoke training program.

Marc hasn’t built his business or reputation to where it currently is by allowing any of his team to guess, so we currently run the most complete body diagnostic program anywhere in the industry that we put every new client through before they’re ever allowed to put their hands on a weight or pick up a kettlebell.

Unlike other ‘fitness’ assessments offered by local gyms and Barnstaple Personal Trainers the KCA puts it’s focus on how your body operates on a functional level including muscle firing patterns, postural and movement analysis, deep core function tests, neurological assessments and functional profiling. The result is a truly unique picture of your body from how your muscles, joints and neurological system work together to create the body you wear.

You will not find this level of personal service anywhere else in Barnstaple Devon, as Marc is the only trainer in the area who has studied KCA Level 4 Training.

The Kinetic Chain Assessment is a prerequisite of training with us and the results of the KCA make up the first 4 weeks of your programme – a corrective, strength and flexibility programme.  Information from the KCA will be used to implement the first stages of your programme – Corrective Exercise – where we address postural distortions, muscle strength and flexibility imbalances and core stability deficits and return your body back to optimal alignment.
