It’s Monday

It’s Monday (like you hadn’t guess), but didn’t you say you were going to get started today?
You know with that empty promise that you’ve been telling yourself.

“The diet starts Monday” or “the new exercise programme starts Monday”
But then Monday roles around and you can’t be bothered as you’re too tired from the excesses of the weekend.
Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who goes through this on a regular basis. I do too.
The trouble is, the longer that we leave it before we do actually get started on that diet, or that exercise programme or that project that you keep telling people is going to change your life around the less likely it is to happen.
Look, I’m all for planning and preparation. But you can over plan yourself into inaction.
You keep waiting until that perfect moment comes.
But that perfect moment never comes. Because perfect doesn’t exist. 
So sometimes you’ve just got to get start with an imperfect plan and tweak it along the way.
