I need someone to kick my backside so to speak and issue me a challenge.
Kind regards,

Great story Fiona,

When people miss meals they also tend to cut back on drinking fluids.

Your migraines would of been brought on by the conbination of the two but definately an increase in water intake would allow the body to better transport the nutrients that the brain needs.

I found this very interesting, I had my first migrain when I was 15 and they used to be a fairly regular occurance ( I'm not talking about just a bad headache it meant at least 24hrs in bed, I was incapable of doing anything and once the awfull pain in my head had gone I didn't feel well for up to three days) and at one stage in my mid 30s I was getting one nearly every day at this time in my life I was going through a divorce I had a stressful job so that's what I thought the problem was. Then one day I was reading one of my pharmaceutical journals and it had an article on migrains and thier causes one of the points it made was about the corelation between migrains and going a long time with out eating. In those days I thought I could't eat breakfast and when I thought about it I would eat dinner at about 8pm then I might not eat again till lunch the next day that could be as much as 17hours with out food and I would do this day in day out.I decided to change my eating habits I started to have breakfast every day and eating a proper meal at lunchtime and the rsult is I haven't had a migrain since 1997. So the point is I was probably dehydrated as well as there not being enough glucose getting to my poor little brain or it could have been that I was dehydrated as my fluid intake did increase with my food intake.

Great article Marc, I will definitely be re-thinking my drinking habits, less tea and more water. I have health issues with my back and am sure that I don't hydrate myself enough. Many thanks for making me think of the difference it can make to me personally.
