What Is An ‘Average’ Personal Training Session Like At Barnstaple’s Leading Personal Training Studio

We get asked that a lot and, to be honest, it’s a really difficult question to answer because each of our sessions are designed to fit the unique requirements of our clients, their unique goals and the unique ways that their bodies are put together.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   That said, our training sessions do tend to follow a theme so, as long as you understand that this is just to give you a rough idea of what to expect, here’s an ‘average’ 60 minute session structure.

5 Minutes – Warmup:Most of our clients will generally arrive a little before their appointment time to warm up on their own on a piece of cardio equipment or do a few of our activation drills to prepare their body for the session to come. We strongly encourage this as it allows us to spend more of the hour engaged in activities that will bring you closer to your goals.5-10 Minutes – Integrated Manual Therapy/Stretching:Most of our clients come to us with postural distortions caused by muscle imbalances, injuries and other complications that stop them getting the best from their bodies and slows down the results. We address this by applying our own Integrated Manual Therapy protocol TM through stretching, inhibitory techniques, muscle activation patterns and postural corrections that will ‘prime the pump’ for the work to follow. This is a vitally important part of every session and you’ll often feel muscles that have been inactive for years suddenly come to life in just a few minutes. It really IS that powerful!

5 Minutes – Unloaded Preparation

Our Mobility Matrix TM is the means by which we prepare your body for the ‘real’ training. By performing this series of 3-dimensional movements through full range you’ll immediately feel stronger and more prepared for the work ahead of you, not to mention the fact that you’ll be more flexible and mobile than you’ve been in ages.5-10 Minutes – Loaded Preparation

Our Integrated Movement Training (IMT) Comes next for most people as we prepare their bodies for the loading that will be taking place. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this is just a warmup though, this is a very specific and highly productive system that we use with all of our clients to strengthen, stretch and stabilise the entire body at once and it’s the an amazing weapon in our fat loss and function arsenal… as you’ll soon see!30-40 Minutes – Strength and Conditioning:

This is where it gets tough to explain how your training session might look.

For some people it’ll be mostly corrective exercises to help them with their rehab of an injury, for others it’ll be bodyweight training, others may be working with dumbells, kettlebells or even sandbags and others still might be doing Capoeira or kickboxing.

It all depends on the goals. They may be doing ALL of this in one workout!

Whatever they’re doing though, you can be sure that they’ll be working on a program that’s been built to bring them results in the fastest, safest manner possible.

5 Minutes – Cooldown Stretch

We end every one of our personal training sessions with at least 5 minutes of hands-on stretching to ensure that your body is ‘reset’ to the right position before you leave us and to minimise  the aches, pains and stiffness that’s normal associated with working out.

Our clients love this, as will you when you experience it for yourself : )That’s It… You Can Go Home : )

As you can see, this is a very complete and well thought out approach to training.

Absolutely nothing is missing from the sessions we provide and, of course, during the time you’re with us you’ll be coached on your nutrition and lifestyle and reminded about your goals too, so every single session becomes a major advance in the direction of your goals rather than ‘just a workout’.

This is why we’re able to achieve more in terms of results than any other personal training company around.

We simply leave nothing to chance.

You deserve nothing less, right?
