Hi, hope you are doing great.
Ok, I’m going to be nosey and ask a bunch of questions. Hope you don’t mind.
Here goes, I’m hoping to expand my gym to offer more than just Boot Camp, Personal Training and Sports Therapy/Massage.
The plan is to have a “normal” gym that people can use at any time that its open. I will be offering the same services as above but will also be running other classes such as Pilates, Boxercise etc.
So what I want to know is
a) What kind of equipment would you like to see? Eg: treadmills/bikes etc
b) What kind of classes would you like to see? Eg: spinning/hips, bums tums, nutrition classes etc
c) What kind of therapies would you like? Eg: Hot Stone Massage, Hypnotherapy?
d) Are you or do you know a Personal Trainer/Therapist/Pilates Instructor who would be interested in in working in the expanded facility? If so send your CV and a brief descrpition to marc@barnstaplepersonaltrainer.co.uk
If you could email me or leave a comment below with what you would like to see so I can further help you towards your health and fitness goals it would be really apriciated.
Train Hard, Eat Smart!
Marc

Boxercise classes, step machine and treadmill please!
Hiya Marc,
I would love to be able to do boxercise classes. I think they would be great fun and I would enjoy doing them alongside the boot camps.

POWERPLATE!!! all the way! and an uphill crosstrainer! i have bad knees and cant even go on the cross trainer for 5 mins as puts so much pressure on my knees how ever the uphill one doesn’t at all and can go on it for an hour with no pain! other than that the boxersize is great.. wat about boxing training? i d love to do that! a girl class not with men!
I think with the current popularity of dance based reality shows a kind of ‘street dance’ class would be amazing. There’s nothing like that in N devon and I’m convinced there’s a dancer in all of us… especially us girls! And music is the biggest motive I can think of.
Pilates would be great too. And personally, due to odd working hours, just a little flexibility with the opening hours? Mid- morning/ afternoon would be a great time for a workout.. so good luck with taking over all the units to cram all that in
Marc,
Sounds an interesting development. For me the stand out piece of equipment has to be the concept 2 rowing machine ! it will take any amount of wear and gives a super workout, with a mix of cardio and strength ( im not on the payroll !! ) Crewclass classes? A Wattbike would be ideal too but the price less so , spinning classes ?The idea of dance sounds good , great for body and mind, i doubt my style of dance would pull the punters though ( Morris ! )
On a selfish note i find the focus of the Bootcamp has brought results quicker and in a more balanced way than previous gym attendance.I know its horses for courses etc but i would hope the bootcamp is as available ? Might a sauna be an option to ease the aches and pains of workouts.Good luck with the plans.
Cheers Steve.
Hi Steve,
Boot Camp is here to stay so don’t worry about that. Glad you’re getting the results you want.
Running a sauna is very expensive and doesn’t work nearly as effective as a Sports Massage. Sports Massage will help release all the knots and tensions built up from exercise and daily living. I studied Sports Massage as part of my Level 5 Advanced Sports Therapy qualification
Hannah,
I’m looking into the uphill cross trainer for you
